Zany people that we are, we travel the world precipitated by a job. We've traveled around the world 2 times with kids (very small kids) in tow, and now, in this updated edition, a 3rd time. Call us crazy, but here we go! (again)

- I'm Mary-Catherine. Mother of two sons and a daughter, wife of Econ Man, a frequent traveler full of wonderlust. By day a profoundly exhausted Domestic Engineer: a cook, a referee, a psychologist, a nanny, a house cleaner, a computer operator, teacher, personal chauffer, laundress, interior designer, administrative assistant, bookkeeper, handy gal, groundskeeper, nutritionist, RN, logistics analyst, and day care teacher--all in all CEO of my domain. In a former life, a painter, a sculptor, a poet, a designer, a reader, an academic. But a woman who spurns definition by just one. My blogs chart our family's journeys around the world, searching out those unbelievable moments, both mundane and profound, that make me so happy to be alive.

And the Blog Continues...(3 1/2 years later!)...
I began this blog in 2009, when our second son was only a few months old. It was to document our second trip around the world with kids. Our first time around the world our first son was 15 months old (2007) and blogs weren't even a thing most people really did. So no blog. But this--our third venture around the world--begins with 3 kids and an updated blog. Oh the bells and whistles they've added to blogger.com since this blog began in 2009! I'm giddy with the possibilities!
So as I begin this first update to the blog since 2009, I'm rethinking our traveling life with kids. I'm rethinking (not the travel part, because I love that!) the things we bring, how we actually travel, where we travel, and the number of bags we bring (remember we have 3 kids now!). SO...
This third trip around the world will take us to Europe and Asia--again. It will be intrigueing to experience these places once more, but with older and more children. And I look forward to the challenge of another baby on long haul flights. There is never really a learning curve on this one, but I know some "tricks" and hope for the best.
Things I've learned since our first trip:
Rent the stroller wherever you are going.
Always, always, always, bring earplugs (you know, the clear, sillyputty kind)
Never leave home without your charging cables and ipods, iphones, and ipads
